And the fact that it hasn’t even been a year in my coaching business yet. From starting a blog, to winning Woman of the Year a few months after.⁣

Then launching a business from scratch and then being able to transition into full-time coach 3 months after launch.⁣
⁣
Then launching a podcast in January & being in the top 5% in my genre in not one but TWO countries?! Whetttt 😭 *extra sprinkle on top is I’m currently in the healthiest relationship I’ve ever been in*⁣
⁣
Everything started to unfold after these things:⁣

- Having the courage to start on my self-growth journey, which led me back to my most authentic self⁣

- That positioned me to not only feel the nudges the universe/God was giving me, but it gave me the confidence to follow the arrows on the ground despite not knowing where it would lead me. ⁣
⁣
I had to surrender. Surrendering means letting go of your attachment to what you think should have happened. Surrendering to what is, and trust that you’re being guided to something more profound. ⁣
⁣
Surrendering can be hard, especially for someone who has anxiety..being in control is something that puts me at ease. ⁣
⁣
But I figured out what I wanted, then I built myself up to believe that I actually deserved it, and then I claimed it, and then God said say less babygirl I gotchu.⁣
⁣
We never have to worry about the HOW (as in HOW we will get what we desire). It’s God’s job to figure out the HOW. It’s our job to believe. ⁣
⁣
I had to surrender and wholeheartedly believe that everything will unfold in my favor, even during the lowest of lows, I still held onto my Faith.⁣
⁣
To whoever’s reading this who feels lost in life, great things are on your way. You are stronger than you think. What’s coming is better than what is gone. Keep going 🙏🏽⁣

Ladies & gents- I wanna formally introduce the man I briefly spoke about in ep1 of my podcast 😜⁣

To be completely honest, before starting my blog I had committed to a level of openness that ended up blindsiding me. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE social media. I will forever be grateful for the community and friendships created on here. But of course, as does everything in life- there’s the good and then there’s the bad. ⁣
⁣
As a content creator, we’re always faced with the decision on what to share and what to keep for ourselves. As y’all know I’ve been very open with my stories of pain, struggles, & the ups and downs life has thrown at me. Being open was never an issue for me.⁣
⁣
It’s when people felt *entitled* to knowing pieces of my life I specifically choose NOT to share. I remember I posted his hand (soft-launch LMFAO) on my story last year & people who I didn’t hear from during my public breakup all of a sudden came outta nowhere, lowkey demanding for me to reveal who this man was, to hurry and share more details of him. Contrary to popular belief, I use my platform to change lives not for entertainment (unless I’m twerking on my story then that’s for entertainment! 😜) That’s when I pulled back & decided maybe I just keep this gem hidden from the world… until now.⁣
⁣
Quite frankly, & I mean this in the most humble way possible, our story is just too beautiful NOT to share. Post-breakup, I declared to God and to myself that this was a season of healing (not just from the breakup but other things that had surfaced in the last few years). I’ve been to therapy, read book after book, listened to countless podcasts in order to adhere to my intentions of the season... but I was blindsided yet again. But this time in a good way... because no one ever told me that healing can come in the form of another human. ⁣
⁣
I plan on sharing bits & pieces of my healing journey because I know for a fact it will be healing for you, too. But this time I wanna do it at my own pace, no pressure, and within my own capacity, and I ask for your patience along the way. ⁣
⁣
I’m finally ready to share this chapter, and my oh my... this ones a beautiful one 😭❤️

I am an Asian woman. I may not “look like it”

I am an Asian woman. I may not “look like it” and often times people comment on how much I DONT rep the fact that I’m Filipino or that I don’t rep it as much as I do my islander side (struggles of a biracial woman!). ⁣
⁣
II am *FROM* the beautiful island of Saipan, which is why I go hard for my islands (shoutout to the 670 🥰🇲🇵). But being Chamorro (native of the islands) AND Filipino is in my blood. I am not one or the other and it is my duty to use my voice to amplify both communities. ⁣
⁣
I’m typing this with pain and sadness because of what is going on in the AAPI community. If you haven’t heard of what’s going on, I ask that you please do your research to get up to date.⁣
⁣
To my fellow AAPI community, you are seen. You are loved. Your cries are heard. Please take all the time and space you need to process and heal. ⁣
⁣
To my non-AAPI followers, we need allies more than ever. Please reach out to your Asian & Pacific Islander friends/coworkers, ask questions about the history of racism in our communities and ask what you can do as an ally. Have conversations about racism within your own communities to spread awareness so that we can fight together. ⁣
⁣
For example, I was in a space where a friend’s family member was making racist jokes about Asians (not knowing I was full-blown Asian because I don’t look like it), and it would’ve been the right thing to do for my friend to speak up and say something to said family member about his hurtful comments. As a side note— I spoke to that friend when we left and had brought up my concerns, and they apologized and said that moving forward they’ll speak up and not allow that to happen again. ⁣
⁣
This is a prime example of how the non-AAPI communities can be an ally. Those tough/awkward conversations are the most important ones. Remember that tolerating racism IS racism. ⁣
⁣

I used to NEVER show my belly button. In my early 20’s I had it pierced but my body kept ejecting the piercing, so my hard headed ass tried to pierce it again once it healed. Welp, it ended up scarring even more & eventually I gave up on it. Because I pierced it so many times, it created a big scar above my belly button and for the longest— and I’m talking YEARS (almost a decade actually) I always covered it up. High waisted errythang for this girl 🙋🏻‍♀️⁣

Then when I found the courage to start my self-love journey, I decided to tackle one insecurity at a time (if you’ve been following me for a while you’ll notice I NEVER wore my hair up until this past year - due to another insecurity my ears lmao).⁣
⁣
The point of this post is to let you know that EVERYONE has insecurities. You are not alone in that. ⁣
⁣
Confidence is just taking the power away from those insecurities. Silencing them. ⁣
⁣
What you give power to has power over you only if you allow it. I had to stop watering negative thoughts and create new, beautiful thoughts to water 🌱 ⁣

Questions to ask yourself when you’re feeling insecure:⁣

- what vulnerability is being exposed?⁣
- What threat am I perceiving? ⁣
- What belief is preventing me from achieving self-acceptance? ⁣
- What previous hurt is being triggered?⁣
- What is my inner critic saying?⁣
- How can I offer myself love in this moment?⁣
⁣
Save this post & come back to it or write these things down any time an insecurity pops up.⁣
⁣
You’ve been criticizing yourself for years sis and it hasn’t worked. Try approving yourself and see what happens. ⁣
⁣
We get so caught up in comparisons and what we’re “supposed to” look like that we don’t notice our own beauty.⁣
⁣
“Flowers are pretty but so are sunsets, and they look nothing alike”— You are beautiful just the way you are, no need for comparison.

Life really comes full circle. Growing up I heard

Life really comes full circle. Growing up I heard stories of my mom and my Aunt (my grandmas sister) participating in the beauty pageant back home (my aunt actually won the whole thing). I was in the audience for a few of them growing up- watching these stunning, confident women grace the stage representing our islands. ⁣
⁣
I always wanted to be on that stage one day, to follow in my aunt’s and my mom’s footsteps. Via pageant rules, you have to be a resident of the islands to be qualified to run- so unfortunately when I packed my belongings to migrate with my family to America, that dream had to be packed away as well.⁣
⁣
This pic was taken last Friday before I hosted a special workshop for the contestants of the Miss Marianas pageant. This was a dream come true for me (even though I wasn’t IN the pageant, I was still asked to be a part of it).⁣
⁣
If I had a chance to time travel and look little Asia in the face and tell her that her future self would be teaching contestants about self-love and confidence- I wonder how shocked she would’ve been. I wonder if that info given to her would’ve changed the trajectory of her life, with her knowing that despite the hardships she was enduring everything was gonna be okay in the end. ⁣

Of course, I’m grateful that I can look back at everything I’ve gone through with a smile because I couldn’t have written a wilder story (wild in a good way 😉).⁣
⁣
I am constantly living pinch me moments and it’s all because I chose to follow my passion and live in my purpose.⁣
⁣
A special thank you to the Miss Marianas organization for giving me an opportunity I thought I had missed. ⁣
