I am an indigenous woman.⁣⁣
I am a daughter of the Mariana islands.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
People often wonder why I am so passionate about where I am from,⁣⁣
and my short form answer is “because that’s my home.”⁣⁣
But it’s much deeper than that. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
My mom physically welcomed me into the world on the same land my ancestors roamed dating back to 2,000 BC.⁣⁣
⁣
As a little girl I walked the same grounds, through the same woods, swam in the same waters my ancestors did.⁣⁣
⁣
In fact, there are still pillars from the homes my ancestors built sprinkled throughout the islands to this day.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
While I’m filled with so much pride, it comes with pain too. ⁣⁣
Pain that our land is being stolen from us, our voices silenced, my people forgotten.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
A typhoon that struck my islands was named the most powerful tropical cyclone ever recorded in history, yet no one batted an eye.⁣⁣
It didn’t even make headline news.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
When I rep where I’m from, it’s much more than to be considered lucky to live where the waters are clear & the sands are white. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I rep where I’m from because I want people to hear my voice. ⁣⁣
To hear the voice of my people. ⁣⁣
To hear the voices of my ancestors.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I will continue to fight for what is rightfully ours.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
So when you ask me why I’m so passionate about where I’m from,⁣⁣
and my short form answer is “because that’s my home.”⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Know that it’s much deeper than that. ⁣⁣

I didn’t want to be alive. ⁣

Despite being so open about my life and growth journey, only a few have known this about me. ⁣
⁣
A few years ago, I had a falling out with my family, shady friends and a toxic boyfriend that even made my therapist do a double take when I told her of his manipulative ways. ⁣
⁣
Life was so hard for me. ⁣
I moved through my days feeling like I had a rain cloud over me at all times.⁣
It followed me around everywhere, and even when I had sunshine it wouldn’t stay for long.⁣
⁣
I used alcohol to cope. Any emotion I didn’t want I suppressed with partying & shots.⁣
⁣
I was afraid of my own thoughts. I was bullied by them because I’d lose to them every time.⁣
⁣
Because of this I never wanted to be alone. I had to surround myself with people at all times, even if they weren’t good for me. ⁣

Then when I was alone, I would distract myself by overworking or just sleeping it off.⁣
⁣
There were multiple times throughout my life that I wondered if life was even worth living, because the pain felt unbearable.
⁣
But that all changed when I started taking care of my mental health. That’s why I hold #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth near and dear to my heart. ⁣
⁣
I wouldn’t be where I am today without doing my research, digging into self-help books, taking on therapy, and most importantly, the bravest thing anyone can do— I ASKED for help. ⁣
⁣
It all started when I saw someone brave enough to share their story. So that’s why I always share mine.⁣
⁣
To whoever’s reading this, ⁣
You are not alone. ⁣
You matter.⁣
You are valuable.⁣
Your life makes a difference.⁣
You are loved.⁣
⁣
I promise there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. ⁣

The need to please people, low self-esteem, perfectionism, a trauma response, or feeling responsible for other people’s mistakes might all be reasons why you say sorry too much. Saying sorry might seem like it’s polite, but it’s actually hurting you and making you appear smaller and more timid that you really are.⁣

My dad is from Bacolod, Philippines so I’m a Chamorrita/Filipina ting ✨⁣
I’m deathly afraid of frogs. In fact, I went camping a few weeks ago and heard them on our campsite at night & was convinced there was a whole army plottin to attack me once I went to sleep like the white walkers in Game of Thrones⁣
I’ve never owned a tv until I met my bf, I only bought one so he could use it while he’s over⁣
I’m a Gemini & my friends suffer because of it ⁣
I do the absolute most & have yet to have one regret ⁣
I’m a plant-based mami 🌱⁣
I have anxiety, PTSD, and depression & I’m a resilient warrior ✨⁣
Most of my clothes are from thrift stores or second hand & I’m probably the most frugal person you’ll ever meet⁣
Despite being an island girl I hate anything coconut flavored ⁣

Lastly, I’m a woman of God living in my passion of uplifting women in my community and around the world 🌎 And I’m looking forward to showing y’all what mountains I’m gonna move with this passion. ❤️⁣

And the fact that it hasn’t even been a year in my coaching business yet. From starting a blog, to winning Woman of the Year a few months after.⁣

Then launching a business from scratch and then being able to transition into full-time coach 3 months after launch.⁣
⁣
Then launching a podcast in January & being in the top 5% in my genre in not one but TWO countries?! Whetttt 😭 *extra sprinkle on top is I’m currently in the healthiest relationship I’ve ever been in*⁣
⁣
Everything started to unfold after these things:⁣

- Having the courage to start on my self-growth journey, which led me back to my most authentic self⁣

- That positioned me to not only feel the nudges the universe/God was giving me, but it gave me the confidence to follow the arrows on the ground despite not knowing where it would lead me. ⁣
⁣
I had to surrender. Surrendering means letting go of your attachment to what you think should have happened. Surrendering to what is, and trust that you’re being guided to something more profound. ⁣
⁣
Surrendering can be hard, especially for someone who has anxiety..being in control is something that puts me at ease. ⁣
⁣
But I figured out what I wanted, then I built myself up to believe that I actually deserved it, and then I claimed it, and then God said say less babygirl I gotchu.⁣
⁣
We never have to worry about the HOW (as in HOW we will get what we desire). It’s God’s job to figure out the HOW. It’s our job to believe. ⁣
⁣
I had to surrender and wholeheartedly believe that everything will unfold in my favor, even during the lowest of lows, I still held onto my Faith.⁣
⁣
To whoever’s reading this who feels lost in life, great things are on your way. You are stronger than you think. What’s coming is better than what is gone. Keep going 🙏🏽⁣
